Visitor Center Trail

Length: The trail is a half-mile mowed path and can be accessed from several places. Either join the trail right from the parking lot or follow the hiking trail signs near the Visitor Center pavilion.

​Plant Identification Signs
From spring to fall, plant signs have been installed along the trail. The signs include a QR code that can be scanned to learn more about various plants you will see. The signs will be removed for fall burn season and will not return until spring.

Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) can been seen along the trail.

​The trail meanders close to the bison unit, so keep a look-out for the herd. Remember to keep a 100-foot distance from the herd at all times. If the bison are too close to the fence, you may need to turn around.
